How to Reset Your AT&T DSL Modem

Undoubtedly, AT&T can give you fast, reliable and inexpensive access to the Internet, but time to time troubleshooting is also required for a DSL modem because of the hardware conflict or software issue. So, if you want to solve this problem immediately, resetting is probably the most preferred option. But as you know, simply pressing the reset button would not actually solve the problem; you need to follow a certain guideline after you have completed the AT&T internet speed test. Let’s take a look at the steps mentioned below for resetting the AT&T DSL modem.

• At first, you need to turn off the modem, if it is currently on, by pushing the power button. After waiting for a few seconds you need to again push the power button until the LED indicator lights gets steady green to turn the modem on.

• Since different model has its different style of designing, you need to locate the reset button on your DSL model. Now, just beside the reset button, you will notice a pinhole, and you are required to insert a straightened paper clip into the hole. After you have finished inserting, hold for a few seconds, and then release. Your modem will automatically start to reboot.

• Now you need to launch a web browser and type http://192.168.0.1 into the address bar. After the typing the link, you need to immediately press on "Enter." There are chances that you may be asked to write the model number and its details. You can avail it on the bottom or the corner sides of the modem.

• In the next step, users are supposed to type their AT&T DSL username and password into the text fields.  If this doesn’t work, make sure you enter the default login credentials. In most cases, the default username is “admin”, while the password remains as “password”.

• Moving on further, you are supposed to click the "Connect" button at the top of the page.

• Type any URL in your browser's address bar and press "Enter" to begin using the Internet.

As soon as you click on the enter button, the resetting of your DSL modem will automatically start. On the other hand, if this doesn’t work, make sure you give call to AT&T customer service number of 2016. They will promise you to resolve all these issues while ensuring you with no further occurrence of this or any other similar problems.
